Conduct gender analysis in Hue and Quang Binh, and then share the results of gender analysis with other provincial Women's Union and other provincial stakeholders (at the provincial workshop). This study was also used to make recommendations for the guidelines on gender mainstreaming in CBDRM, which integrates a stronger gender analysis lens in CBDRM (risk assessment and development of DRR plans) at the commune level. The findings of the study are also being used to formulate joint recommendations by the UN, NGOs and Women's Union for strengtheing gender equality and women's issues in DRR.
Advocate for the inclusion of the gender analysis (as part of the social analysis) as part of Disaster Risk Reduction (DRR) plan with Committee for Flood and Storm Control (CFSC) at respective level. Viet Nam Women's Union and UN Women. 2015/06 Completed UN Women has worked on gender mainstreaming guidelines on CBDRM which applies a gender analysis lens to risk assessments and development of DRR plans at the commune level. This advocacy was done with Women's Union and Oxfam, and the Disaster Management Centre (MARD). The final guidelines have been developed and has been submitted to MARD for approval.
Conduct gender analysis in the provinces that the project will be implemented in the future (two provinces more). Viet Nam Women's Union and UN Women. 2014/12 Completed All 4 provinces have completed their gender analysis. This study was an overview of the gender and DRR situation in Viet Nam. A gender mainstreaming guidelines for CBDRM has been developed and completed in selected communes in each province. This means that CBDRM with integrated gender tools were used to develop DRR plans in targeted locations.

Advocate for the inclusion of the social section in the DRR plan so that the gender issues can be integrated.
