The new GRB programme initiated in 2012 with support from the Ford Foundation includes a work plan for every initiative in consultation with key implementing partners. GRB unit supports capacity building at the central, state and local levels of government, directly and indirectly through consultants placed in MWCD. The primary purpose of these consultants and their trainings is to promote execution of GRB at various levels of government. Plans are underway to follow up with participants of the capacity building training by MWCD to measure their impact and to capture the impact of the trainings conducted directly by the GRB unit. Under new and on-going programmes, the UN Women GRB programme continues to build capacity of CSOs (such as Dalit groups (Swadhikar and Social Watch, Tamil Nadu) as well as North East Network to incorporate gender into planning, budgeting and auditing. The GRB programme also works closely with women?s rights advocates such as the WGFE (working group of feminist economists) in India to promote gender responsive national planning and budgeting.
