During the SGIB Sixth Review Meeting in Feb 2012, it was pointed out that some Member States (specifically Nepal and Bhutan) are in the process of drafting a monitoring and reporting system for progress on SGIB, in consultation with SAARC and UN Women. Once the monitoring system for Nepal and Bhutan was approved and in place, it would be extended to other countries. It was noted by SAARC Director Social Affairs that SAARC Technical Committee on Women, Youth and Children held in Kabul on 16-17 July 2011 had endorsed the SAARC Gender Equality and Empowerment Programme (SAGEEP) with SGIB as the central component of the proposed programme. UN Women agreed to support the SGIB Review Meeting in 2013 in Islamabad and provide technical, assistance to SAARC Member States on SGIB through a Gender Advisor.
